Lesvos, and many of the Greek islands have large Orange groves that are no longer competitive to harvest and sell in the EU. They can harvest about 9 months a year, but have recently only been harvesting enough for their on-island markets. When we were there in November and December, we worked with a local Orange farmer to increase his harvest and deliver Oranges daily to the Tea Tent in Moria.

He also started delivering these oranges to the team that is putting together the ferry snack packs.  In all we've bought 1000's of kilos of oranges from this farmer, helping him keep his farm in business.

Your support will help us continue to get the needed fruit into the hands of the refugees, many of whom are now trapped on the island as the borders close.
